What is coaching
Coaching can be defined as partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.
We all have goals we want to reach, challenges we’re striving to overcome and times when we feel stuck. Partnering with a coach can change your life, setting you on a path to greater personal and professional fulfillment. For example, a coach can hold the mirror and help you dig deeper within yourself, to uncover and overcome any limiting beliefs you may hold.
A coach won’t simply say what to do or give unsolicited advice. Instead, using various techniques, the coach will help you find answers and/or insights to help you grow. Upon request, the coach can give examples, ideas, or references to information, in the form of mentoring or training/workshops. In any case, you remain accountable for your own actions. The choice is always yours.
Confidentiality
A coach – client (coachee) relationship is bound by strict confidentiality. You must be able to discuss anything (yes, anything!) in complete honesty and without shame with your coach, in order for the coaching to be effective.
